A famous line in Squid game (explained)

A famous line in Squid game

It is a line that makes me wonder if there is a line that expresses life better than this. There are times when reality is scarier than games. Ki-hoon, who returned to his life after the game was suspended, hurriedly goes to the police station to explain the situation, but he is treated as a crazy person and his mother’s health becomes worse. Rather, when he came out of the game and lived his life, the situation only became worse and nothing was solved. In a desperate situation, Ki-hoon stopped by a convenience store, where he accidentally met the elderly participant No. 1. When I think about it now, it doesn't seem to be a coincidence... And Il-nam says he has decided to participate in the Squid Game again. He says the reason is that out here is more like hell. "But as soon as I got back here, out here, the torture is worse," this line means, we have to think about the situation of the four main characters when they got back here. Sang-woo was still chased by debt, Ali was not paid by his boss, and ‘Saebyeok’ family still couldn’t meet like Ki-hoon. Even if they quit the game and came outside, nothing changed in their life. Rather, hosts made them realize that a more hellish place was their life. Even the game hosts showed participants the past they wanted to hide the most. It is also meaningful for hosts to pick up participants and to send them outside. They dropped Sang-Woo off at Yeouido, the center of Korean finance and that is the place where he was living a successful life there. Ki-hoon, who lives with his sick mother, was waiting for a vehicle to participate in the squid game in front of the hospital.  Ali, who is fighting lonely for his family in front of the factory wall. I think the purpose of the game hosts is to intentionally set these places to show the participants that ‘outside is more like hell'.

"Originally, humans were not reliable things. Nevertheless, the reason I trust people is because I have no place to lean on." Ki-hun.

Before the murder occurred in the darkness, the participants looked for united with each other to protect themselves. They united with each other because everyone next to them was their enemy. But ‘Seabyeok’ was going to be alone. This is the line that Ki Hoon said at that time to her. Sometimes people think they live alone in the world, but if there is no one next to them, can they endure that difficult time? I think it was not because people really believed it, but because they needed someone to be next to them. Seabyeok came from North Korea to South Korea, but she fought against the world alone because people around her betrayed her. Perhaps the Squid Game was a time that made her feel that she had someone to be with.

This is what an old man with one bead said to Ki Hoon with 19 beads. It is difficult to understand just by looking at that situation. One and 19 are not the same numbers. However, the old man said that the 18 beads Ki-hoon deceived and took were meaningless. I think the higher the number, the higher the value. However, if the number of beads are from lies, its value is zero. The elderly think it is 'fair'. Fairness has two meanings: starting under the same conditions and making achievements by lying is meaningless.I don’t feel there is fairness in reality. Also there Is no value of the 20 marbles of the person who wins the game by cheating. To win the marbles game, you have to take 10 of the opponent's marbles and have 20. Even in reality, you must play a game like marbles to get a moment. This is because there is a situation where I should  take someone’s opportunities to achieve my goal. What's interesting is that after this line, the elder man hands over the remaining bead to Ki Hoon. Every time I go higher, I have to remember that someone gave me one remaining bead. In the end, it should be known that one bead changed the result and saved Ki-hoon's life.

When dividing teams, Korean children call those who are left alone because they are odd numbers(or is hard to play together with some reasons) "kkakdugi.", the weakest link.

"People who wear masks call me the weakest link(kkakdugi)!” Mi-Nyeo’

Before they played the marbled game, ‘Mi-Nyeo’ couldn't gain the trust of others, so no one tried to be on the same team as her. Do you know what kkakdugi is? Kkakdugi is one of the types of kimchi we know well. Radish is used to make kimchi, but when you cut radish, small pieces are naturally thrown away. The food made of leftover radish is kkakdugi. In other words, it is a food that has become special by adding seasoning to discarded ingredients. In that respect, she had to be a "kkakdugi." she thought she would be famous kimchi, but it was abandoned in the past games and became useless.

Then, why did Korean children use the word "kkakdugi" made of these useless pieces to people? The reason would have been used to mean that you are not on the same side now, but you are a special person with infinite potential.

"Isn't it really cool?"’ ‘Mi-Nyeo’

Because of this Kkakdugi rule, ‘Mi-Nyeo’ was able to finish the game splendidly, choosing death with Deoksu. Let's not be sad even if we are left alone. It can be another opportunity to save us.

Ki-hoon and Il-nam dialog before his death are impressive lines, and I think there are many words that many people sympathize with in this scene. What are some impressive lines that you think? It would be fun to leave a comment and talk together.
