Third game - tug-of-war

While playing past games, people naturally form groups, not individuals. This group naturally makes it possible to play the third game. In other words, when humans form a group, they naturally split sides for each other's benefit. We always say we want everyone to live well together, but in reality is hard. So we want to be on the side of the strong rather than the socially weak. Before starting to the tug-of-war game, the people who make up the team want to be on the side of strong people than weak people due to the nature of the group game. We call this 'instinctive'. In fact, as it turns out that the third game is a "tug-of-war," a group of powerful people feel comfortable, including the socially disadvantaged, are frustrated. Since tug-of-war is literally a game that drags the opponent's body with strength, it is true that it is difficult to win against overwhelmingly strong.

However, like the games analyzed earlier, different meanings are hidden in this tug-of-war. This is 'experience'. Old man shares the "experience" of beating a strong team with strategies, not strength, to team members full of thoughts that they will die soon. Tug-of-war was a game in which people learned the importance of using it because there is a "experience" that young people doesn't have but older people has. It was an impressive game in that made me know the importance of experience in a game. We should think the socially disadvantaged can be the strong.

In addition, Ki-Hoon thought that there was no special ability among the participants, but in this regard, he has the ability to pity and believe in people. Through this belief, he took care of my old man. Thanks to old man, Ki-Hoon survived once again.

Forth game - Marbled

Now, the squid game enters the middle of the time. To play this game, survivors should make a team of two. Because of the tug-of-war earlier, everyone would have thought of a 2vs2 team match. So the participants thought that if a strong person and a smart person team up, that would be the best team. However, Ki Hoon felt compassion for the elderly so he teamed up with the weakest "il-Nam."

In fact, this game is not a team survival, but wins only when you get all of the teammate's marbles. Before the 'marbled' begin, the old man mentions "gganbu," which means a friend who shares things. To explain it simply, two people but can be one, gganbu, who will win together as a team. We have to watch the fourth game from the perspective of this 'gganbu'.

As we live, there comes a moment when we inevitably have to separate. In that case, the person left behind must live a new life by keeping the memories or beliefs shared with the dead in their own way. Whether it was money, thoughts, memories, or beads given by the dead. The main characters in this game said bye in different ways and took over different things.

In the "Jiyoung" and "Sea-byeak" teams, "Jiyoung" told her story that she couldn't tell anyone. Perhaps "Ji-young" looked for someone to sympathize with her story before she died rather than winning the game.

"Then team up with me. I'll make sure you win". -Jiyoung

In "Sangwoo" and "Ali" teams, "Sangwoo" betrays "Ali" by cheating. It would not have been an easy choice for him either. This is because they were the only ones who shared their feelings in this game. Nevertheless, he eventually betrays Ali to live. The marble that "Alli" gave to "Sangwoo" contains a trust to believe in him, but on the contrary, what "Sangwoo" gave to "Alli" was an abandoned stone. In other words, unlike others, he threw away his feelings about the remaining relationship in this game, and goes to the next game with only
"competition" and "survival". In the "Marbled" game, Sang-woo did not lose his marble, but lost all his feelings left behind through this game.

Ki-Hoon and il-Nam team have the opposite appearance to the team introduced earlier. Unlike Sang-woo, who handed over the stone, the old man handed over the marble to Ki-hoon. Ki-hoon, who has been playing games with compassion and faith, finally rewarded. It should be explained more later, but the old man also tells him about the "separating" that ends his life in this game.

Therefore, marbles deal with the process of separating in each way, not with the purpose of stealing the teammate's marbles. The difference between a person who separated well and a person who didn't separated well has a great influence on the next games.
